Me & Mr. Ray were always thinking what to eat for our dinner during weekdays. I was reading a blog from PenangTuaPui today regarding this bak kut teh at BB Cafe. So was decided to try out today.

BB Cafe was selling hawker foods during the day time, eg: asam laksa, curry mee, wan tan mee, chicken rice, pan mee, economic rice, fried kuey teow & etc. It is always fully occupied by those ppl working in nearby MNCs during weekday lunch hours. This shop is located just behind Sunshine Square.

I was only get to know they are selling bak kut teh at night. This Lai Xiang bak kut teh is selling from 5pm to 11pm. When I was there for this first time, there are almost 70% occupied by ppl. Their serving style is very fast and efficient. Can get your order once you sit down and serve the food in 5 min time.
This is the bak kut teh they serve. Taste good with moderate herd smell. The special ingredient inside was they are added mini corn inside the soup other than pork, bean curd skin, pork ball, mushroom & etc.

Boiled lettuce with pork floss only cost RM3.
There are white rice and yam rice to choose.
We can choose bean curd to add in the bak kut teh or choose to have fried style with Thai sauce cucumber onion slice.
This meal is only cost us RM18.70. it is cheaper compare to other bak kut teh shop we eat at BM or gurney drive.

Ingredients: red dates, dried lotus seeds & dried longan
Method: put all together in a bowl of water to boil. Boiling about 20min, no sugar is needed.

Right way to cook Instant Noodle!

I believe everyone of us eat instant noodles before. As it is fast and easy to get it. Some taste good too! But yesterday I found an forward e-mail from friend on the right way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health.

Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with boil water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat. This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles. By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structures of the MSG causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have taken the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD :
1. Boil the noodles in a pot with water.
2. Take out the noodles once cooked, and throw away the water which contains wax.

3. Boil another pot of water till boiling and put the noodles into the hot boiling water and then shut the fire.

4. While the water is very hot, put the ingredient with the powder into the water, to make noodle soup.

5. If you need dry noodles, take out the noodles and add the ingredient with the powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

I have tried this method yesterday and found the soup taste is not as tasty as boil together with the noddles. But to prevent us on getting unhealthy life, we have to keep this method in future.

According to the article there is a large number of patient with the ages ranging from 18-24 years are ending up with pancreatitis either as a swelling or infection of the pancreas due to regular consumption of instant noodles. If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous. Take care my friends!

Ah Loh Seafood

I am not sure why it call Ah Loh Seafood, but it is selling by Malay. -.-"
This is my first time there and which highly recommended by my sister. She was telling me Ah Loh Seafood is cheap and nice. And there is always fully occupied and need to q-up sometime. Then we plan one day go to eat with my family when I was back to hometown. It is located someway on the way to Jasin, Melaka. Actually it is like a village that got a link shops selling seafoods. And we choose the 1st shop.

I can't really recall how many dishes we ate. Because I only able to take below photos. Those seafood was serving with nasi lemak. The service is average and I can said is below average. As our seafoods are ready on our table but we have to wait for the nasi lemak for about 10min due to they are rushing packing it. *sweat* Wonder why they need to pack it instead of just have it on plate and serve. *doink*

8 adults and 1 kid. Total Bil = RM110.

Price: Not that cheap as the portion is quite small.
Environment: Mamak stall style.
Drinks: Nice, although they are serving wrong fruits juice that we order.
Food: Average. I still prefer Tambun cheap & fresh seafood. :p
